ICON Medical Imaging to participate at the American Heart Association 2008 Scientific Sessions
ICON Medical Imaging is delighted to announce that it is a participating institution in 2 presentations at the Annual Scientific Session of the American Heart Association, in New Orleans, November 9 - 12, 2008.
"The Selective Cardiac Myosin Activator, CK-1827452, Increases Systolic Function in a Concentration-Dependent Manner in Patients with Stable Heart Failure" will be presented in a Cardiovascular Seminar (#117) entitled "Translational Trials and Strategies: First in Man" on Sunday, November 9, 2008, from 5:15 PM - 6:45 PM Central in Rooms 275-277 of Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The presentation will be made by John Cleland, MD, FACC, FRCP, FESC, Professor of Cardiology, Castle Hill Hospital, University of Hull, United Kingdom.
“Iodofiltic Acid I 123 SPECT Provides Incremental Diagnostic Value over Initial Clinical Information in Emergency Department Patients with Suspected Acute Coronary Syndrome” will be presented in a poster session on Sunday November 9 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. The poster will be presented by Dr. Michael Kontos, MD FACC, of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia.
The Chief Medical Officer of ICON Medical Imaging, Jonathan Goldman MD FACC is a co-author on both presentations.

The article, entitled "MR-IMPACT: comparison of perfusion-cardiac magnetic response with single-photon emission computed tomography for the detection of coronary artery disease in a multicentre, multivendor, randomized trial" highlights Beacon Bioscience as the SPECT imaging core lab used in the trial.
